Nestled in the forested Blue Ridge Mountains away from urban lights, this high-elevation meadow is one of the premier stargazing spots in the East. While some visitors view the cosmos through telescopes or binoculars, on clear moonless nights the naked eye is sufficient to see 2,500 stars, the Milky Way, and dozens of constellations.
